  • Why do I have to verify my identity?

As a regulated financial institution, Crowdestate is required to follow the anti-money laundering regulations and establish client relationships in the same way as banks and other financial service providers. Therefore, we require our investors and project owners to verify their identity before opening an investment account or raising capital for their crowdfunding project.

We use an advanced biometric identity service provider to make the identity verification process quick and easy. You will need to have your government-issued ID (passport, identity card, etc.) at hand to complete the process, which should take just a few minutes.

Please note that you will be asked to re-verify your identity when the document used for your identity verification expires. We will send you a reminder by email to ensure that your account remains active and compliant with the regulations.

I do not have a webcam

If you don’t have a webcam on your desktop computer, you can use your smartphone, tablet, or laptop to complete the identity verification process.

Alternatively, you can use a friend’s or a public computer (such as the one in the public library) to complete the process.

I have two user accounts. I could verify one but not the other.

If you have multiple user accounts on Crowdestate, it is important to note that each individual can only have one user account. However, you can open as many investment accounts (both private and corporate ones) as you need.

If you have registered with different e-mail addresses or social media accounts, please reach out to the investor support team at info@crowdestate.eu, specifying which user account has passed identity verification and which one has not. Our investor support team will likely have to merge the accounts and move the investment accounts to the surviving user account.
